February 2012

At the annual CVQ retreat sixteen members of the Guild made quilt tops that, when the quilts are complete, will be donated to Interface Children & Family Services.  Eleven of our members repeated the jelly roll challenge posted on YouTube months ago by racing to piece together forty 2 1/2" strips of fabric. First to the finish line was our co-President, Chris Cole, finishing her top in 33 minutes, followed seven minutes later by member Monique Waddell. Congratulations, Chris and Monique!  Chris beat the Youtube time by two full minutes! Five additional jelly roll quilt tops were contributed by members who participated in the challenge without racing. The Conejo Valley Quilters make and donate quilts throughout the year to Interface Children & Family Services and Alzheimer's Association.
