March 2017

The Conejo Valley Quilters March meeting was jam packed with activities that were all about giving back to our community and to others. The highlight of the evening was the Philanthropy Sew-In – an opportunity for members to work on Philanthropy quilts that once completed will be donated to one of our chosen charities for the year. On display this month were the “Good, Bad and Lovely” quilts. Members voted on their favorite – make sure to read next month’s newsletter for the announced winner! Once the Good, Bad and Lovely quilts are completed, they will join the Philanthropy Sew-In quilts and be donated to charity.

But that’s not all!  The completed Panel Exchange quilts were revealed. The ladies had worked hard over the past months on each other’s quilts and the recipients sure did look pleased at the lovely panel quilts they received. Sherry Ramaila was our “Tip of the Month” instructor. This month’s tip: How to get eight half square triangles from two squares. Sherry also taught this month’s workshop the “Cargo Duffle Bag”, and her students showed some lovely completed bags – thanks Sherry!  Finally there were a couple of lovely quilts for “Show and Tell”.  Don’t forget to join us next month, when we will be joined by Kingdom Sewing.  You don’t want to miss it!!
